of Booking for Woodside Cottage, Mill Rigg and Ralston
From The Fisherbeck, Ambleside
1. To Make a Booking.
a) Bookings may
be made by telephoning the booking office at The Fisherbeck on 015394 33215 or
by email or on line via our website www.lake-district-self-catering.co.uk.
b) All bookings are made on the understanding that these terms and conditions
have been read.
c) Once your chosen dates have been checked for availibilty the booking will be
held provisionally for a period of 4 days so that a deposit of £150.00 can
be made.
d) Deposits can be made by cheque or debit card; or by credit card with a 2% surcharge.
e) A completed booking form will also be required to confirm details of your reservation.
f) Payment of the balance is required 8 weeks prior to arrival. Non-payment of
the final balance when it becomes due will constitute cancellation of the holiday
and forfeiture of the deposit payment.
g) Bookings made within 8 weeks of commencement of a holiday will require payment
in full at the time of booking paid either by cheque, no less than 4 weeks prior
to your stay; by debit card; or credit card with a 2% surcharge.
h) You must be 18 years of age at the time of making your booking.
2. Confirming your
Booking.
a) Your holiday
is not confirmed until you have received written confirmation.
b) Please check your written confirmation carefully, as soon as you receive them.
Any errors must be reported to us immediately.
3. Occupancy.
a) The prices quoted
are for 7 night’s accommodation commencing each Saturday (Friday for Ralston)
except for the Christmas & New Year periods when change over days will change
annually.
b) i) Woodside Cottage is offered only on the strict understanding that no more
than 4 people shall use it. It is possible to accommodate one additional small
baby in a travel cot.
ii) Mill Rigg is offered only on the strict understanding that no more than 5
people shall use it. It is possible to accommodate one additional small baby in
a travel cot.
iii) Ralston is offered only on the strict understanding that no more than 6 people
shall use it. It is possible to accommodate one additional small baby in a travel
cot.
c) We reserve the right to refuse or curtail any booking where it subsequently
transpires that information has been withheld from us either by numbers in the
party or its composition. In this event no monies shall be refunded as it will
be considered a breech of contract on your behalf.
4. Your responsibilities.
a) You are responsible
for the property, this means you must keep all furnishing and fittings inside
and outside the property in a comparable state of repair and condition as at the
beginning of the holiday. The property cleanliness must be left in the same state
as you found it. Breach of these conditions may result in an additional cleaning
charge and/or making a claim against you as a result of any damage or loss. You
are responsible for the actual costs of any breakage or damage along with additional
costs that may occur caused by you or any member of your party.
b) Any breakages must be reported to us as soon as reasonably practical after
they have occurred.
c) Payment for breakages will be required prior to departure.
d) We also reserve the right to make any booking subject to an additional deposit
against inventory and cleaning, refundable after the holiday, less any damaged
or missing items and less any other than normal cleaning being necessary by us.
e) The party leader – named on the booking form is held responsible for
the behaviour of the party and for the condition in which the property is left
at the end of the stay.
f) No change in the identity of any member of any party booking the cottage may
take place without prior written notice.
g) Any member of the party under the age of 18 years must be accurately disclosed
on the booking form.
5. Pets.
a) Sorry no pets
at all will be allowed.
6. Smoking.
a) All properties
provide completely non-smoking accommodation.
7. Arrival &
Departure.
a) In order for
us to prepare for you arrival holidays cannot commence before 4pm.
b) Departure time is no later than 11am.
8. Liability.
a) No Liability
is accepted in respect of loss or damage to the client or any member of the party,
their baggage, car or content, resulting from riot, war, strikes, adverse weather
conditions or sickness or injury or for loss or damage by a third party.
b) In the event of any accidental damage occurring in the property during your
stay you may be held liable to pay the excess on any resulting insurance claim
made by the owner, or to pay in full should the amount be less than the excess.
9. Linen.
a)Bed linen and
towels are supplied as per the individual booking requirements.
10. Access.
a) The property
owner must be allowed access to all properties at any reasonable time for essential
maintenance or annual Visit Britain inspection. Wherever possible, prior arrangements
will be made.
11. Cancellation.
a) We strongly
advise that you take out holiday insurance coverage as no monies what so ever
can be returned should cancellation be made less than 8 weeks prior to commencement
of your holiday unless the holiday can be re-sold at the same price. ALL refunds
of either deposits or full payments will be subject to a £25.00 administration
fee.
b) ‘Cancellation’ means that the property will not be occupied by
any members of your party. If you have to cancel before you travel, please phone
us immediately and confirm in writing to us the same day.
c) If you have to cancel during your stay it will not be possible to have any
monies refunded for the balance of time the property is unused by all your party
and again we urge you to take out holiday insurance to recover your own losses.
d) It will not be possible to change the dates of your holiday less than 8 weeks
prior to arrival.
12. Cancellation
by Ourselves.
a) In the unlikely
event that your holiday accommodation becomes unavailable due to reasons beyond
our control all monies will be returned in full and we shall not be under any
other liability.
13. Left/Lost Property.
a) We regret that
we cannot accept responsibility for any lost property left behind at the end of
your stay. Whilst we will make every reasonable effort to return lost property
this will only be done on receipt of full payment for the registered post involved.
14. Property Description.
a) Every effort
is made to ensure the accuracy of information given either orally or written and
all representations are made in good faith.
b) Bookings are accepted on the understanding that you have read the description
in the brochure, letter or on the current web site.
15. Access Arrangements.
a) Access to all
properties will be available from 4pm on the first day or your holiday booking.
b) Keys may be collected from The Fisherbeck, Lake Road, Ambleside, LA22 0DH,
until 11pm,
c) Keys must be returned to The Fisherbeck prior to departure. The cost of replacing
any lost keys is £15.00 per key.
16. Parking.
a) There is sufficient
space for one car to be parked in The Fisherbeck private car park. If an additional
vehicle requires space please discuss this with us.
b) Mill Rigg has sufficient private parking for up to three vehicles.
c) Visitors Parking Permits will be provided for two vehicles for Ralston guests.
A charge of £25.00 per permit will be required for permits not returned
to us.
17. Cots &
Highchairs.
a) A travel cot
may be hired for £15.00 per week. No linen is supplied. Prior booking is
required.
b) A highchair may be hired for £15.00 per week. Prior booking is required.
18. Complaints.
a) If, upon arrival
you feel that there are reasonable grounds for complaint about your holiday home
we must be contacted immediately so that, if possible, appropriate action can
be taken during your stay. If a reason for complaint shall arise during your holiday,
you must similarly contact us as soon as the problem arises. No complaints will
be considered after completion of your holiday, unless they were raised when they
arose.
19. Short Breaks.
a) These can be
arranged out of season allowing visitors a 3 night weekend stay or a 4 night mid-week
stay subject to availability.
20. Force Majeure.
a) Compensation
payments will not apply where we cannot fulfil our obligations due to circumstances
beyond our control. This would mean any event we cannot foresee with all due care,
e.g. Riots, war or threat of war, terrorist activity, civil strife, natural or
nuclear disaster, industrial dispute, adverse weather conditions, fire, epidemic
or health risk and similar factors beyond our control.
